Clarinet

This is my 2nd time stitching “Clarinet”. Dec/2000, I started two Clarinets at the same time and I finished one for use as a gift. I ran out of the silver colour metallic thread, so I left the 2nd Clarinet in a closet for a long time and forgot all about it….. I found this unfinished project early this year, when my son started framing projects for me. I wasn’t aware that I had a “UFO” as I always start new projects only after I finish the previous one. I’m glad that I was able to finish the 2nd Clarinet, as I don’t have a good picture of the 1st one. Frame size is 13.25" x 19.75".

The Welcome for all Seasons

I stitched this lovely project in 2006 and posted it earlier. My son just framed it for me. I used only DMC floss instead Mill Hill's beads and treasures. I was going to change the USA flag to the Canadian flag but I changed my mind. I stitched the Korean flag instead. It turned out great. It's 31st frame job done.

House

I stitched this project in 2004 from an old magazine.

Kale Chips

It's very easy and simple, preheat an oven to 350 degrees F, with salt and olive oil. Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, about 10 minutes.

5 jam pots are in original design, but I cut a fabric little short by mistake. I have done only four instead five. What a shame. I don’t remember what was the 5th jam pot. It was done in 2003 and just now framed.

Plums

I don’t have any information for this design. There are lots of half stitches but I didn’t like the half stitches. I stitched them full stitches with one string instead of half stitches with two strings.

Four Seasons

I stitched these in 2003. Designed by Anne Van Wagner Young, from Leasure Art book#174. It has two sets of cross stitch pattern and one set of needle roll pattern.  This is a first set of the four seasons. It’s my sons 25th frame job done. Frame is a little big, but it’s OKAY to me.

Collection of Smalls

These small items were made from 2005 to 2010. There are pincushions, pin keeps, needle books, door hangers and needle rolls etc. I didn’t count them but there must be around 150-200 and I have more decorating my bedroom curtain.

One Door

These are my 2nd and 3rd times stitching this project. I stitched this project the 1st time about 10 years ago for my friend. I started this again for myself on 28 count fabric, and during stitching I wanted to stitch one more for my brother who lives in Korea. My son bought two identical frames for these projects. Now my brother and I keep one each.

Blue & White Still Life

I stitched this lovely project in 2005. Designed by Linda Gillum for American of Needlework. It has been sitting in the closet over 12 years. Frame job is well done.

Bless Our Home_11th frame

Design is from an EMS (Ellen Maurer-Stroh design), garden alphabet free design. I set the words “Bless Our Home” and added some butterflies, bees and lady bugs to the design, here and there. I enjoyed it when I was stitching (2005) and it is so pretty and colorful. I stitched “HOPE” (and made it into a bag), and two sets of “OPEN”, “CLOSED” (and made them into door hangers) for friends who have businesses/ stores. Special thanks to EMS design.

Blue Willow China_10th frame

Designed by Angela Pullen(Author), Forget Me Not #2405, Pamphlet 1996. I stitched this project in 2006. It would been double mats, light blue for point and dark red for main color. But my son cut the mats one inch short by mistake. There wasn’t enough red mat to replace, so we decided to add a third mat with a dark brown color (close to dmc floss #3031) and it turned out better than the first choice.

It looks more antique, and I really love this result.

My son's new hobby: Framing

I have lots of completed cross stitch projects, but have not framed them for a long time. They have been just sitting in the closet, some are from 2002…..

My son bought lots of old pictures and frames from auction. He started framing in February and so far he finished 11 frames. He did a very good job and the frames turned out so great. I’m so pleased with these frames.

Now I’m posting three frames: Strawberries, Onions and Chocolate. These designs are from an old LA leaflet “Kitchen Stitchen”. I Stitched these project in 2004. I gave the “Onions” to my brother’s family.

20 pouches for gift use

I stitched initials for personal gift use.
