My Treasure Pincushion

I embroidery stitched 16 pieces of pentagon shapes and 2 pieces of octagon shapes, one for initial “H”, and one for applique embroidery. I joined them together and it turned out very pretty. I’m so happy with the result. I made it on Aug 10/2024, but am just now posting, what a shame…..

Scissors Storage Pouch

I have lots of finished cross-stitch projects, and searched YouTube to try to make use of them by turning them into something nice, to use them up one by one. I found a good idea to make a pouch to carry all my small items, such as scissors, pen, pin clips, etc.  I finally finished one pretty one.  So cute…

Cell Phone Pouch

I used one leftover piece from “The Flea Market Flower Cross Stitch” for the front, and hexagon pieces for the back. I hand-quilted both sides and joined them together with a zipper, and finished it with a small bead chain for decoration.  It turned out cute.

15 blocks Hand Quilted

Upgrade Project

This is a quilt I finished in early September, and was previously posted.  I added a couple of falling leaves in the empty space at the bottom of each side of the vase. I used light yellow and light brown colours, fall colours, and I think it looks better now.

Flea Market Flowers Cross Stitch

This is a beautiful cross stitch project.  I cut each of the blocks and finished as a quilt. It took one month for cross stitching, and another two months for quilting the blocks. I pinned the finished quilt on my bedroom curtain, where it looks nice. I’ve been thinking of other projects for combining cross stitching and quilting. I have some other finished stitch pieces I can make into something, such as a pillow, a cushion, a lap quilt, etc.

Applique Hand Quilted

This is an another one of Hetty Gruener’s UFOs.  I fixed two small applique spots which were missing. I used wool batting and a beautiful green floral print fabric for backing. I started on June 6 and completed on September 4, taking three months to hand quilt. I’m so glad that I completed another one of her UFOs into a finished project. It can be used as a wall hanger or a cozy blanket.

Quilted Bags & Jacket

I got some UFOs from a quilt club member at the Community Centre.  These UFOs are from her friend’s mother, Hetty Gruener, who passed away a couple years ago.

Her works (hand stitch, sewing, joining each blocks, EPP…) are so neat and beautifully done.
I used some of her pieces to finish as two bags, a quilt on the back of my jacket.
They turned out so good, and I’m so glad that I completed some of her UFOs into finished projects.

Sewing Case for Cross Stitch

I decided to make another sewing case to use for Cross Stitch. I stitched embroidery stitches this time with all different flowers, and took pictures step by step. I also incorporated some small projects, which I made a long time ago.

First Sewing Case for Quilt

I got some unfinished 9-patch blocks from a friend. I arranged two of the 12-patch blocks for the top and the bottom of the sewing case, and added applique on each of the blocks.  For the inside, I made two pincushions (small & large) and secured them with magnetic buttons.  The pincushions are so cute. I attached a band for pens, pocket for scissors, elastic to hold for threads, and some more very detailed work for other items. It turned out very pretty, and I’m so pleased with it.

My First Quilt Project

I started to learn about quilting, early this year. First I used one of my Cross Stitch Pieces to make into a Cross Stitch Project Pouch. This Cross Stitch piece was done in 2022, sitting in the closet for a while. I played around with fabric in several ways, such as colour match and size… etc., It took about a month to complete, and I’m proud of myself. First quilt job done…

Quilt for my Son

I stitched 26 alphabet blocks designed by Prairie Schooler, from mid Apr 2022 to Nov 22/2022, and I needed 4 more blocks to make a 5X6 pattern to make into a quilt, so I chose the four seasons. After I completed these blocks, it took a while to find a good quilter who could quilt for me. In Jan/2024, finally I found a quilter, Jane Cramer, who did a perfect job.I’m so pleased with the final result…
