Upgrade Project

This is a quilt I finished in early September, and was previously posted.  I added a couple of falling leaves in the empty space at the bottom of each side of the vase. I used light yellow and light brown colours, fall colours, and I think it looks better now.

Flea Market Flowers Cross Stitch

This is a beautiful cross stitch project.  I cut each of the blocks and finished as a quilt. It took one month for cross stitching, and another two months for quilting the blocks. I pinned the finished quilt on my bedroom curtain, where it looks nice. I’ve been thinking of other projects for combining cross stitching and quilting. I have some other finished stitch pieces I can make into something, such as a pillow, a cushion, a lap quilt, etc.

Applique Hand Quilted

This is an another one of Hetty Gruener’s UFOs.  I fixed two small applique spots which were missing. I used wool batting and a beautiful green floral print fabric for backing. I started on June 6 and completed on September 4, taking three months to hand quilt. I’m so glad that I completed another one of her UFOs into a finished project. It can be used as a wall hanger or a cozy blanket.

First Sewing Case for Quilt

I got some unfinished 9-patch blocks from a friend. I arranged two of the 12-patch blocks for the top and the bottom of the sewing case, and added applique on each of the blocks.  For the inside, I made two pincushions (small & large) and secured them with magnetic buttons.  The pincushions are so cute. I attached a band for pens, pocket for scissors, elastic to hold for threads, and some more very detailed work for other items. It turned out very pretty, and I’m so pleased with it.

Quaker Mask

I stitched a special mask for myself to wear during the pandemic while I'm out and about. I combined  different motifs into the design and I think it turned out so beautiful . I am very happy  with results.

Hand Sewing

I made some sewing accessories, scissor cases(one big one & 2 minis), coin pouches, rotary cutter and a little cat for door hanger.

Masks

I made about 30 masks for family members in April to protect them from COVID-19.  Some of them are made with pocketed filters. All are hand-sewn from different fabrics. I even made kid sized masks for my granddaughter.  These masks are reusable and washable.

This bag is for me. I used some buttons for fun and I am slowly changing them to prettier buttons, one by one.

Jeans recycle

I made these two jean bags from old jeans. First I took apart both jean pants. I put the back pocket on each side of the bags using different colours of back pockets. I also stitched my initial " H "  to attach to the center of the pocket. These bags are big 19 X 16 inches.

Sewing

I made a number of smalls, such as a Cat door hanger, stuffed cats, and pincushions, and I used these as small gifts.
I got the DIY patterns from European websites. They are so cute. I would like to thank those European sites, who shared these lovely ideas.
I want to make more of these smalls in the future.
