Quilt for my Son

I stitched 26 alphabet blocks designed by Prairie Schooler, from mid Apr 2022 to Nov 22/2022, and I needed 4 more blocks to make a 5X6 pattern to make into a quilt, so I chose the four seasons. After I completed these blocks, it took a while to find a good quilter who could quilt for me. In Jan/2024, finally I found a quilter, Jane Cramer, who did a perfect job.I’m so pleased with the final result…

I stitched these in 2003. Designed by Anne Van Wagner Young, from Leasure Art book#174. It has two sets of cross stitch pattern and one set of needle roll pattern.  This is a first set of the four seasons. It’s my sons 25th frame job done. Frame is a little big, but it’s OKAY to me.

Four Seasons_8th frame

1.

This is from  the “Prairie Schooler, #123”. I stitched in 2006, and changed the USA flag to CDN flag on Summer pattern as I’m Canadian. This frame job wasn’t easy, as four projects are in one frame.I hung this frame in my bedroom, just above the headboard.

Home Decoration

My brother lives in Acton, Ontario, one hour distance from Toronto.
When I visited them last time, my sister-in-law mentioned that she wanted something to hang on the front door of her house, but she didn’t have any ideas.
She and I tried to hang a wreath but the space between door and screen door wasn’t enough.
This week, I looked around to see what I have.
I used an angel frame, which I bought from a garage sale last year during my trip to the East Coast, and four seasons I stitched earlier this year, but I only used three of the seasons and not winter, due to colours not complementing each other somehow.
Well, the arrangement wasn’t easy at all, and I changed it several times before I finished…
I think the final arrangement is good enough….. I hope she likes it.

Four Seasons 2

Four seasons is my favourite theme.
These PS designs are from The Gift of Stitching #25, Feb 2008.
I just finished these last week and made them into ornaments.

Four Seasons 1

Designs are from Trail Creek Farm freebie. I made them into bookmarks, but they can also be used as scissors fobs. I attached them one by one to my purse to show them off … And of course I got lots of comments.

I stitched two sets of four season series in 2004. I don’t remember the designer because I gave the pattern away.

Four Seasons Biscornus

Four seasons biscornu

I chose small designs from freebies, and arranged them to make my own biscornus. I picked tulip designs for Spring, fruit designs for Summer, Halloween designs for Autumn and Christmas designs for Winter. They turned out pretty good. I already gave Spring biscornu away.
