Her Flower Garden SAL

This six blocks SAL from “A Box of Chocolate” began in December 15/2009, but I just discovered it this month. So far, three blocks are out. They are Rose for December, Orchid for January and Lavender for February. I stitched all three blocks individually, and made them into ornaments.
My friend suggested I make a story book for little children, and I think it’s a very good idea, but I don’t’ have any grandchildren yet. I’ll wait for the next three blocks and stitch them all at the same time.

This lovely design is from the Kooler Design studio.

I finished this beautiful project in Jan, 2002.

I love this project and it’s one of my favourites.

Peace be in this house

Designed by William Morris. I borrowed William Morris’s needle book from the library. When I started this project, I planned it as a gift for my sister. However, the framed piece was a little big to send by overseas parcel, so instead, I’ve kept it hung in my bedroom since I stitched it in 2001.

My Collections 3

I stitched a basketful of small things, with different groups of colours, using variegated DMC floss. I picked small motifs from free patterns. I made some pincushions, ornaments, a scissors fob and a pinkeep.

Three Kits from England

Westminster Abbey

In 2000, I went to Europe (England, France and Russia) with a few church members and I bought three small kits from England. It was my first trip to England, and I gave these to my sister who lived in England, at the time.

Willowware Classic

About 10 years ago, I saw this project done by someone else, posted on the Internet. I really wanted to do this one, too, so I asked this lady if she could sell me the pattern, which was a kit. Instead, she just mailed it to me with no charge. I stitched it immediately and had it framed. I love it a lot. Since then, I stitched a few more Blue & White theme patterns. Somehow, I lost connection with the lady who passed on this lovely pattern. Special thanks to her.

9th Wreath...

Designs are from here. There are 12 Primitive Ornament patterns, but I stitched only 8 of them on white colour fabric and dyed them with onion skins. I made these as pincushions and then made another wreath. This one is going to be for my brother’s family for next Christmas.

8th Wreath....

This design, Christmas Eve (?), I stitched as Black and White and made it into a wreath. What I planned was a nice black & white theme, but it wasn’t easy to arrange these two colours, so I added some extras, such as the red bird and red poinsettia, etc., and it turned out a little better.
