Tropical Fishes and Butterflies

I stitched these colourful tropical fishes and butterflies on vinyl aida in 2007, and put them on the shower curtain and toilet paper holder in my bathroom, for decoration. I plan to stitch a starfish, a seahorse and some seaweed, etc., but I don’t know when….

Here comes the sun and Full moon rising

Here comes the Sun

Designs are from Bent Creek Design. I stitched them in Jan/2005 and had them framed as a set. I love these designs, as well as the colour combinations of mats and frames.

Home Decoration

My brother lives in Acton, Ontario, one hour distance from Toronto.
When I visited them last time, my sister-in-law mentioned that she wanted something to hang on the front door of her house, but she didn’t have any ideas.
She and I tried to hang a wreath but the space between door and screen door wasn’t enough.
This week, I looked around to see what I have.
I used an angel frame, which I bought from a garage sale last year during my trip to the East Coast, and four seasons I stitched earlier this year, but I only used three of the seasons and not winter, due to colours not complementing each other somehow.
Well, the arrangement wasn’t easy at all, and I changed it several times before I finished…
I think the final arrangement is good enough….. I hope she likes it.

Plum

Design is from “Peaches & Plums”, Color chart # 204, designed by Maria Winkler. I stitched this in July/04.All the background is half stitch with 2 strands, but I've done it in full stitch with 1 strand instead.
I don't enjoy half stitching at all.....

Peace be in this house

Designed by William Morris. I borrowed William Morris’s needle book from the library. When I started this project, I planned it as a gift for my sister. However, the framed piece was a little big to send by overseas parcel, so instead, I’ve kept it hung in my bedroom since I stitched it in 2001.

Bless Our Home

Designed by Ursula Michael. I stitched four of these (Lee, Son, Choi and Kim) as Christmas and Millennium gifts. “Lee” for my parents, “Son” for my sister’s family, “Kim” for a special request from a friend and “Choi” for a church member. Some projects I stitched two or more, because I really enjoy seeing them finished with different frames and mattes, for comparison.

EMS Garden Alphabets Freebie

"Bless Our Home" What a lovely designs.

I have stitched a few different words using this alhabet.
I add some butterflies, bees and ladybugs.

"HOPE" in Nov/2004, "Bless Our Home" in Jan/2005, two sets of "Open" & "Closed" and "Bath"

I stitched two sets of open & closed signs for friends for their business stores. One set was stitched on 14 count aida with backstitch on each letter.(Sep/2005) A second set was done on 18 count aida without backstitch. Personally, I like it without backstitch.(Mar/2008)

The last one I stitched was a "Bath" sign for the bathroom. I made three of these in Mar/2008.

Kitchen Basket

Design is from Korean designer, Jasuzip Cross Stitch Design Group. It's a Kitchen Sampler of nine blocks, but I stitched only five of them.

I sewed them individually with some beads

I arranged them with dried flowers on a wicker basket shape. I gave it to my brother’s family for their new home.

My first cross stitch project

The House Blessing Sampler

This is my first Cross Stitch project. I stitched this kit from the Heart, disigned by Nancy Miller, in 1989 and gave it to my friend as a Christmas gift. When I visited her after she moved to her new house, I noticed that she had not hung this picture. She explained that it did not match with her new home,
so I took back the old piece and replaced it with a new piece.

I had the old piece reframed in Apr, 2004, and kept it for myself
