Quilted Bags & Jacket

I got some UFOs from a quilt club member at the Community Centre.  These UFOs are from her friend’s mother, Hetty Gruener, who passed away a couple years ago.

Her works (hand stitch, sewing, joining each blocks, EPP…) are so neat and beautifully done.
I used some of her pieces to finish as two bags, a quilt on the back of my jacket.
They turned out so good, and I’m so glad that I completed some of her UFOs into finished projects.

Jeans recycle

I made these two jean bags from old jeans. First I took apart both jean pants. I put the back pocket on each side of the bags using different colours of back pockets. I also stitched my initial " H "  to attach to the center of the pocket. These bags are big 19 X 16 inches.

Purple Holly Hobbie Bag

I stitched a purple version of this Holly Hobbie and sent it to a quilter friend in Korea, to have it made into a bag. It's a very big size, 35X31 cm, and it looks like 3 bags in one. I haven't yet seen the finished bag in-person, as it was a special gift for my dearest friend, also in Korea. I hope she likes it. Special thanks Ttenzzand, best quilter I know. I used 898, 502, 209, 211, 700, 434, B5200, 208, 553, 604, 964, 754, 704, 726, 436, 3371, 433, 958, 210, 602, 3837, 3371, 801

Old Memories of Knitting and Crochet

I knitted a Cat bag in 1975, design is from an old magazine.

I crocheted a black cardigan about 20 years ago.

This lovely crochet blanket I stitched in 1972, for my first baby boy. It’s still in good condition.

White sweater, I don’t remember when I completed, was a design from an old Vogue Knit magazine.

Green and White afghan, I made 4 of these afghans for a Church bazaar mid-1980 and I kept one for myself.

EMS Garden Alphabets Freebie

"Bless Our Home" What a lovely designs.

I have stitched a few different words using this alhabet.
I add some butterflies, bees and ladybugs.

"HOPE" in Nov/2004, "Bless Our Home" in Jan/2005, two sets of "Open" & "Closed" and "Bath"

I stitched two sets of open & closed signs for friends for their business stores. One set was stitched on 14 count aida with backstitch on each letter.(Sep/2005) A second set was done on 18 count aida without backstitch. Personally, I like it without backstitch.(Mar/2008)

The last one I stitched was a "Bath" sign for the bathroom. I made three of these in Mar/2008.

8th Holly Hobbie

I again stitched Holly Hobbie, this time in pink version. It’s my 8th one and it turned out pretty bright pink.I used DMC, 155, 208, 318, 333, 367, 433, 436, 601, 603, 700, 702, 727, 728, 754, 792, 801, 898, 915, 917, 3607, 3608, 3689, 3750, 3787, 3814, 3842, 3843, 3865 and white.

One of my friends in Korea who does quilting made this one into a nice bag. I mailed this piece in March to Korea, and got it back last week.
I know it’s not easy to match the colours of fabric around a stitched piece, but she did a good job. I’m so pleased with this bag. I carried this bag yesterday to Church, and I received lots of comments

A Soon

It was a 16-part SAL from a European web site, started in Sep/2007 and finished in Feb/2008. I have made these into a nice bag and I love the result.
