Holly Hobbie

I stitched seven Holly Hobbies in mid 2004. They are blue, red, green, yellow, purple, dark blue and orange.
It was so fun of changing the colours when I was doing these.
I have made them into cushions, and three were given away as gifts.

This year, I stitched one more with bright pink colours for myself. At the moment, this one is in a quilter’s hands, to make it into a bag for me.
Once it is finished, I will post an update. I can’t wait to get this bag.
Some day, I want to stitch more of these in different colours. Any suggestions??

Cherry Blossoms

In the beginning of April, my grown-up children and I went to Washington DC to see the cherry blossoms. It took about 10 hours to drive from Toronto and it was my first time visiting Washington DC. It is a very beautiful city and the timing was perfect. We looked around the White House, the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol building, the Library of Congress, the Cherry Blossom Festival, etc.
Cherry blossoms are all around of the tidal basin.
It took about an hour to walk around. Some branches are touching the water,
some make an arch … just beautiful.
On the way coming back home, we stopped at Luray Caverns, too.
I hope I can visit for cherry blossoms again in the future.

The Wedding

I stitched this one in June 2000, for my daughter.
I displayed The Bride and The Wedding at her wedding reception. I got lots of comments

I stitched the second one in June/2003. I changed the colours again to purple.

Four Seasons Biscornus

Four seasons biscornu

I chose small designs from freebies, and arranged them to make my own biscornus. I picked tulip designs for Spring, fruit designs for Summer, Halloween designs for Autumn and Christmas designs for Winter. They turned out pretty good. I already gave Spring biscornu away.

Basketful of Ornaments

I enjoyed stitching the Christmas ornaments from all different books in 2003, but they were lying around for a year before being sewn together.
I gave them all to my daughter for her Christmas tree, but somehow she gave them away to her co-workers as small gifts.
